What to expect

Welcome to the first BLOG post on my site. Heres a Quick rundown of what to expect from these posts. So to start, I am going to attempt to update this blog at least twice a week and use this platform to flesh out ideas that’ll eventually turn into projects or one-off photos. Regardless I want those who follow my work to be aware of what I am currently working on. I also hope to use this as an opportunity to promote other artists and use this platform to help them grow as well. Now some about the photo above.

Recently my girlfriend and her family invited me to a spontaneous trip to Zion National Park, so of course I took the offer and enjoyed our mini vacation. I was excited to shoot on my ‘new’ camera, a Pentax K-10, so I got some photos of plateaus, canyons and natural anomalies. However, this photo was one of my favorite, it was taken at a desert highway pit stop on the way back to California from Nevada.

As we stopped and stepped out for a stretch break, the heat hit me like a cement cinder block to the face. It was ridiculously hot, but as the thought of that passed my mind, through the bustling of the highway next to us, I heard a familiar tune, that of an Ice Cream Truck. As it pulled into the parking lot, I thought to myself "there’s no way this guy gets business here”. Little to my knowledge, as soon as he pulled up to park, this guy had a line ready for him. He was well versed in the idea of supply and demand, I say this because not only was he selling to the right market, EVERY item he had on his truck was $5 or more. People were gladly handing him $10’s and $20’s, this man had found his niche. I had to document this moment of realization.
