The Narrows and Plateaus of Zion
I’ll use this post to share the rest of my favorite shots that I got at Zion National Park. If this post does anything, let it remind you the beautiful things that mother nature has to offer. Its often easy to become absolutely comfortable in the lifestyle of the modern world, but in that comfort we lose our connection to our true giver of life, The Earth. Now, I bet you’re thinking to yourself, “ThIS FuCkInG HiPpIe blah blah”, NO!! This ecologically aware human, is attempting to raise your awareness to the things that you thought never existed outside your comfort zone. We become so recluses and oblivious, living our lives, driven by social-economic norms, expected tendencies and force fed ways of thinking, that we lose sight of how to think critically of many things around us. This topic being, the environment and our impact. Now, I won’t type this out and be preachy acting like I am not part of the problem. However, what I can attest to, is the more I leave my home and venture out of my comfort zone, the broader my awareness becomes. Its an awareness that brings me back to reality where I am humbled. Humbled by the idea that nature is much larger and powerful than we can ever be as a species. It corrects itself indefinitely, while we struggle to gain equality for all in our day and age. The point I am getting at is, IF we do not correct ourselves now and take steps to step out of our ignorant way of dealing with our environment, then nature will correct it however it wants to. It can either keep us in the picture or not. I will not bombard you with the details and events that are happening world wide because the news networks are already doing that for you; I know you hear it. However, I will ask you to listen. LISTEN to your fellow human, SEE what is truly happening, DO something different, anything, and BELIEVE the scientists. DON’T retreat back onto your smartphone and forget like its not happening because you chose not to be aware of the problems when they’re right in front of you. Sooner or later, it will be unavoidable and at that point it might be too late.
Zion National Park is a beautiful place to visit, take the time to go enjoy it.
